Spill Response Training Program For Contractors

XL Environmental's Risk Control spill response program is designed to give basic, concise information to general contractors that will prepare them to respond to accidental chemical spills on the worksite. The class includes lecture and hands-on instruction on the use of basic spill response equipment and materials. There are two-hour and four-hour programs available that cover the following topics:

Two-hour spill program

  • Containment and confinement practices for accidental chemical releases
  • Preventative controls
  • Selection and use of personal protective equipment
    Environmental and physical hazards of chemical spills
    Use and selection of spill response materials

Four-hour program

  • Containment and confinement practices for accidental chemical releases
  • Preventative controls
  • Selection and use of personal protective equipment
  • Respiratory protection
  • Environmental and physical hazards of chemical spills
  • Use and selection of spill response materials
  • Hands-on drill utilizing spill response equipment for scenarios that may include: leaking drums, ruptured storage tanks, or spills resulting from equipment refueling and maintenance
